RECONNECTION STRATEGY AND RECOVERY EDUCATION
Helping Parents Understand the Path Back
Andrew Folkler brings the reunified survivor and parent-reconnection lane into Thrivers Speak®. His work helps targeted parents understand the mind of the alienated child, the relational conditions that make safe return possible, and the communication patterns that either lower pressure or increase it.
He is not only speaking from lived experience. Andrew is a writer, strategist, ghostwriter, editor, marketer, and communications advisor with deep skill in finding the real constraint beneath the surface problem. That professional lens matters here because alienation is often sustained by language, framing, pressure, fear, and misread signals.
A parent cannot argue, pressure, or force an alienated child to reunite. What a parent can do is become a safe, regulated, trustworthy presence the child can return to, while removing the pressure that keeps the child away.
SPECIALIST FOCUS
What Andrew Brings to the Trifecta
Lived Reunification
Andrew was alienated from a parent for thirteen years, then reconnected, and has now been reunified longer than the alienation itself lasted. He later reunited with his brother after years apart.
Strategic Communication
Andrew’s professional work in writing, ghostwriting, editing, marketing, positioning, and messaging gives him a rare ability to translate emotional complexity into language people can use without collapsing into pressure, panic, or despair.
Research Made Usable
His gift is synthesis: translating attachment theory, trauma research, survivor experience, reunification literature, and communication strategy into language parents and survivors can use immediately.
COMMUNICATION AND NARRATIVE CLARITY
Finding the Sentence That Opens the Door
One of Andrew’s strongest contributions is his ability to communicate in a way people can receive. In a field where targeted parents are often overwhelmed, professionals are often cautious, and survivors may still be searching for words, Andrew helps slow the conversation down enough for the real issue to become visible.
His professional background as a strategic advisor and communications practitioner supports this work. He has spent years helping knowledge-based businesses clarify positioning, offers, messaging, and the hidden constraints that keep good work from reaching the right people. Inside Thrivers Speak®, that skill becomes part of survivor-led education: naming the relational bind, clarifying the frame, and making the next right move easier to see.
Andrew’s wisdom is not performative. It is practical, steady, and deeply human: he helps people speak from regulation instead of panic, from discernment instead of pursuit, and from hope without forcing an outcome.
BODY OF WORK
Shortening the Red Thread
Shortening the Red Thread is Andrew’s monthly newsletter and the title of his forthcoming book: a formerly alienated child’s guide to healing, reconnection, and breaking the cycle after alienation.
Each month, Andrew answers the questions targeted parents and survivors are actually asking: how to reach a child who does not want to talk, how alienation feels from inside the child’s mind, how to keep hope alive without pressure, and how to recognize the mind games alienation can create.

SIGNATURE FRAMEWORKS
Frameworks for the Path Back
The 5-Stage Healing Cycle
Recognition, Reconnection, Reclamation, Rebuilding, and Reintegration. Andrew frames this as an intrapersonal healing engine the survivor runs within themselves, one bound pattern at a time.
The Nine Cultivations
Nine capacities a targeted parent can build in themselves, and gently model for a mildly to moderately alienated child, without tripping the defenses created by the alienation.
The Red Thread
The organizing image of Andrew’s work: the bond that persists beneath rejection. The rejecting child is not the whole child, and the parent cannot pull the thread back. They can become the kind of presence the thread responds to.

AUTHORSHIP AND ADVOCACY
Books, Newsletters, and Survivor-Led Contributions
Andrew is an aligned voice within the Thrivers Speak® community and its commitment to Nothing About Us, Without Us: the principle that adult survivors belong in the rooms where child psychological abuse related to “parental alienation” and abduction is researched, taught, and discussed.
His contribution is the recovery, reconnection, and communication side of the conversation, making sure that when survivors and parents arrive in those rooms, they leave with something they can use.
